How to use the stock market watch to find a stock market trend in a stock

Stock Market Watch Begins Morning Moves

9:35 am. Stocks that are bound to make a solid move in the first hour of the day will usually produce a big move in a given direction.

9:55-10:10am. Stocks that have made a move in the first 30 minutes of the day will either stall, retrace, or hover at the top third of its move.

Technical analysis of stocks trends also allow us to identify the stocks that are late risers, e ither because they played too hard the day before and opt to stay in bed today.

Some form of action may occur in these stocks. Either they will have a sideways move, and uptrend or a down trend.

Between 11:00-11:30am stocks will take a nap. For those stocks that woke up later, they will either decide to make a move, or if they are feeling lazy, they may decide to nap with everyone else.

At 12pm the market is quiet. Go out to lunch, take a break, refine your trading plan, and just get away from the computer.

At 1:30pm the market and the stocks arise from their slumber, have lunch and resume either their morning moves, or do nothing for the remainder of the day.

Stock Market Watch Begins Afternoon Moves

At 2:15-2:30pm stock have the energy from their lunch time meal, they are now ready to play.

There is more power in the market during this time, partly because the specialists are back, the institutional traders are back from their lunch breaks and the big boys of the market have full bellies and they are ready to start making money again.

3:00pm. The bond market in Chicago closes and at times there may be a reaction in the market. The reaction in the market may mean that the stock you are currently trading will reverse and begin trading in the opposite direction or lose the momentum and stall.

3:30pm. We can view this trading time frame as market wrap up. There may be an explosive move as institutional buyers scramble for the last few shares to meet their daily target or they may begin to close out some of the intra day positions which results in a reversal in the stocks trend. This move may last until the closing bell.
