Understand The Stock Market

Understand The Stock Market :

So we have all heard Work Hard and you are bound to succeed. Yah Right, not in the Stock Market

Remember when you spent your entire summer playing video games and finally during the last few weeks of your summer vacation you reached the master level? If you enjoyed your summer vacations way before the years of video games, I can relate with you on that point.

Growing up, I used to play in the streets of Soweto the whole summer long. We played jump rope and various other games. Throughout the summer we would find different games to play, and by the end of the summer I was always a star of the game. During those summer years, I didn’t know what hard work was.

It was only when the school semester commenced that I knew that I had to work hard, and of course I didn’t really enjoy those school days and enjoyed my summer vacations, because I was allowed to play all day long.

What happens with many human beings is that when they grow up they forget that they have to play. They spend all their days working hard, and grow to resent their work and eventually their lives. What happened to play?

When we study little babies, we realize that their process of learning is in the form of play. As the parent brings out their “Einstein baby toy or DVD” the baby’s brain immediately becomes engaged and two weeks later you hear the baby sing along to the tunes on the DVD. How does a one year old learn so fast?

This learning occurs as a result of neuro mirroring. The baby realizes that when they sing along, they receive positive feed back from their parents in the form of “cooing and Oh you’re so smart and clever my little baby”.

This form of positive reinforcement enables the baby to learn at a rapid pace and enjoy the “play” interaction between the parent and the child.

As adults, we no longer need our parents to give us that positive feedback, we can create play scenarios in the stock market to reengage our brains to learn faster and produce successful stock market results.

While you no longer need your parent to coo and tell you that you are smart little boy or girl, the market will definitely give you that positive feed back, by depositing money into your bank account.

In order to succeed in the stock market and master your skill as a trader or as an investor you have to see your stock market activities as play. You’re in the stock market to play, enjoy your learning process and instead of counting your profits (money) see your stock market results or profits as points that help you reach the next level in your game.

Please hear me clearly, I’m not advocating that you take stock market trading as a hobby and not investing a lot of effort to understand the stock market, however, I am suggesting that you view your trading and investing activities as play with strict rules.

Become a child again, learning, absorbing and engaging in self competitive play everyday you are in the market. countless neuroscience studies infer that we learn better when we are in a relaxed state of mind, this state of mind can be reached through meditation, brainwave entrainment, or play.

The first two processes of reaching a relaxed state of mind can be learnt, however, do require diligent practice to reach mastery, however, a state of play can be reached by any individual at any moment they chose.

Begin every trading day with a promise to yourself to enjoy the learning process. Promise yourself that you are going to engage in educational play and whether you lose money or make a lot of money, you are only playing video games.

This approach to understand the stock market and stock trading will lessen the emotional trauma that many stock market traders face as a result of losing money and will eventually help traders and investors learn how to avoid trades and stock market opportunities that hinder their progress.

Understand the stock market and incorporate play into your daily or weekly trading activities and watch as your progress excels and reaches new heights.
